April 29th  London, England

We flew out of the Atlanta airport around 6pm, and then left from Detroit to London around 9:30. We hit the coast of Ireland right around sunrise, and landed around 9am London time. Getting through the passport line was tedious, as J received some hassle from the woman behind the desk.  Three train rides, £17 and 5 hours later we were standing outside of the train station in East Finchley, about a half mile from our destination.

The one problem being the three 50+ pound suitcases we had with us.  Most of this weight came from the spare parts that we had brought along.  Too cheap to buy a taxi we thought “Sure, we can walk that last bit easy!” It took the better part of an hour and a half, uphill except for the last 50 yards, to drag those cases to the house where we are now.  We took frequent stops to rest.

We’re staying with family of Alasdair and Tamsin who were nice enough to let us stay in the back room of their house.  After the initial introductions and stories the three of us promptly crashed around 5pm, only to wake up at the internal clock shattering time of 2am London time. As we write this it is 5am, and since it’s a bank holiday here, nothing is open for a very long time.  Now we wait for our bikes to arrive.
