Bikes at Last- 5-15-2005
Our bikes finally cleared customs! It was a great feeling to rip open the creates to see our bikes all in one piece...
...They had been boxed up for over a month.
We filled them with oil and packed up our extra gear...
Rodger caught a ride with a truck driver who was leaving the warehouse for the day. He returned with one gallon of gasoline, which we split between the three of us. While he was gone, we replaced Andrew's headlight fuse. Then, we were on our way. Too excited to focus on a map, we hopped on the highway. We eventually made it home. The family that we are staying with laughed when they found out that our return ride was 130 miles when it should have been 40. Getting lost wasn't exactly intentional, but we certainly didn't try and prevent it and we definitely didn't complain about it. It was good for us. We felt how our bikes handled with our luggage and we got more comfortable with driving on the left. Not to mention that we had been itching to ride for the last month.
